Fisher’s Golden Bears claim victory over East Stroudsburg in last home dual

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – In his final time leading the Kutztown University wrestling team inside Keystone Arena, head coach Robert Fisher and his 18th-ranked Golden Bears shut out the East Stroudsburg Warriors, 46-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference dual on Tuesday night.

The Golden Bears (6-4, 4-2 PSAC) capped off its 2025-26 regular season campaign with an exclamation point, as four grapplers pinned their opponents to lift the home team to victory over the Warriors (15-8, 1-5 PSAC), who were simply overpowered by Kutztown's ten winning wrestlers on the evening.

The two lightweight redshirt juniors kickstarted the dual with a pair of pins, as 125-pound Nic Allison (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) (4:04) and 133-pound Javien DeLeon (Allentown, Pa./Liberty) (2:16) got the Maroon and Gold out to a 12-0 lead after their two victories by fall.

Another high-scoring bout from redshirt junior Aliazer Alicea (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) was sandwiched between two decision victories from Joey Ortega (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) at 141 pounds and Hunter Horton (James Creek, Pa./Tussey Mountain) at 157 pounds. The ranked grapplers kept the roll going, starting with a fall courtesy of 13th-ranked Bailey Gimbor (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) at 165 and continuing with a major decision from ninth-ranked Dalton Gimbor (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) in the following bout.

A ranked vs. ranked clash came at 184 pounds, as No. 8 Cole Casilio (Wilcox, Pa./Johnsonburg) faced off against No. 12 Luke Ciampa in one of the more tightly contested matchups of the evening. While both grapplers had control for good chunks of the battle, Kutztown's Casilio sealed the victory with a three-point takedown with less than a minute remaining in the final period, collecting an 11-6 victory for three team points and KU's eighth straight win of the dual.

The ninth and tenth wins of the night came with much more ease, as No. 7 Wayne McIntyre (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) made quick work of his opponent at 197 pounds, with a pin in just over a minute, while senior 285-pounder Freddie Retter (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) was dominant throughout his 11-3 major decision victory to conclude the outing.

For the Golden Bears, it is the team's biggest victory since its 50-0 win over American International last January, while the win marks the most points put up against a conference foe since a 47-0 win over ESU in 2019. This marks the third straight KU win over the Warriors, and the second shutout victory of the season.

Fisher caps of 25 seasons of dual competition patrolling the KU sidelines with a 258-116-2 record, the all-time winningest coach in program history and the best coach by winning percentage in the team's 63 years of existence.

As impressive as his team's dual record has been over the years, his Kutztown teams have frequently matched or surpassed expectations in postseason competition, which will be on the Golden Bears' mind after this weekend. The Golden Bears cap off its regular season at the Futures Tournament, hosted by Millersville University, on Sunday, Feb. 22, beginning at 10 a.m. inside Pucillo Gymnasium.
