SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Kutztown women's volleyball took to the road Tuesday night and took care of business, defeating Shippensburg in four sets of a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division match at Heiges Field House.
Â
It was the first victory at Shippensburg for the Golden Bears (18-4 overall, 6-2 PSAC East) since Sept. 23, 2022. KU was victorious Tuesday by scores of 25-11, 16-25, 25-13, 25-19.
Â
The Maroon and Gold began the night with a bang, dispatching the Raiders (13-8, 4-4) quickly in the opening set. They held leads of 5-1 and 11-5, before going on an 8-0 spurt to raise their advantage to 20-7, and never looked back.
Â
SU was able to respond on its home court and even up the match at 1-1. But Kutztown wouldn't let that spiral as it came out firing again in the third set just like it did in the first and never trailed, once again using an 8-0 run to put distance between Ship, adding on from a 5-4 lead to extend it to 13-4.
Â
The Golden Bears had to climb out of a deficit in the fourth set to be able to finish off the match. The Raiders scored the set's first five points and led by as many as six points (11-5), before rattling off six points in-a-row and nine-of-10 to take their first lead at 14-12. They kept the lead the rest of the way to earn the victory.

Grace White (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown) tallied 11 kills, five blocks and two digs and
