KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore
Alexa Windish (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led a 3-point barrage as she netted a career-best 18 points and was perfect from long range, leading Kutztown to a 90-66 victory Thursday night over Mansfield in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division game inside Keystone Arena.
Â
It's the second straight victory for the Golden Bears (12-8 overall, 8-5 PSAC) and two in the last three nights, both at Keystone.
Â
Windish went 6-for-6 from 3-point land to pace 11 3's made by KU, third-highest of the season and the most since the season-high 17 made in a win over Wilmington on Dec. 1, 2025.
Leila Hurley (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) connected on 3-of-6 3's and both
Bella Quinn (Ashland, Ky./Russell) and
Josephine Vourliotis (Manchester, England/Stretford Grammar School) connected on one.
Â
Both
Olivia Smelas (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) and
Ariana Smuda (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) finished just shy of a double-double. Smelas had 14 points and nine rebounds and Smuda ended with nine points and 12 boards.
Danae Ellzy (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) recorded 15 points and four rebounds. Hurley also had nine points and Quinn dished out seven assists with her six points.
Â
It was the largest margin of victory for the Maroon and Gold since their 27 point victory (76-49) over Clarion on Dec. 20.
Â
Smuda netted the first field goal of the game and Windish drained a 3-pointer all within the first 2:38, but the Mounties held a 10-8 lead with 5:10 left in the opening quarter. KU finished the quarter of a 15-6 run to lead 23-16 after one. MU drilled back-to-back 3-pointers to pull to within one at 23-22, but the Golden Bears scored 14 unanswered points to go on top 37-22 midway through the second quarter and Mansfield never got to within closer than nine points the rest of the way.
Â
Jadyn Brenneman (New Fairfield, Conn./Western Reserve Academy) and
Kitty Randa (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) each totaled six points, Vourliotis netted five points and
Stella Higgins (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) rounded out the scoring with two points.
Â
Kutztown is off this weekend and will next be back in action next Wednesday night, Feb. 4, at home against West Chester at 5:30 p.m.
