LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Jalen Bryant (Edgewood, Md./John Carroll) of the Kutztown University men's basketball team was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Athlete of the Week, Monday, for the second time in his career.

Bryant averaged 22.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last week, leading the Golden Bears to victories over Cheyney and Lock Haven.

Bryant recorded a game-high 24 points to go along with a season-high eight boards in the Golden Bears' 80-53 win against Cheyney last Wednesday. The graduate student shot 7-of-14 from the floor and 8-of-10 at the foul line. Bryant also chipped in three assists and a steal in 37 minutes.

The Edgewood, Md., native led all scorers again, Saturday, as Kutztown overcame a 19-point first-half deficit to down Lock Haven, 70-61, for its first PSAC victory. Bryant scored 21 points, including 12 in the second half, and knocked down four 3-pointers. It was Bryant's fourth consecutive 20+ point showing. The guard played all 40 minutes, finishing with three steals, two rebounds and an assist.

Bryant ranks third in the PSAC in scoring at 19.9 points per game and has moved from 10th to sixth on Kutztown's all-time scoring list this season (1,550 career points).

Bryant was previously honored as the PSAC East Athlete of the Week on Dec. 2, 2024, and was the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week on Feb. 20, 2023.
