KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Kutztown University football team had six players named to the 2025 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) all-region team, a program record and the most in Super Region One this season.
Â
KU's First Team honorees in Super Region One include quarterback
Judd Novak (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central), offensive linemen
Billy Everitt (Abington, Pa./Abington) and
Ryan Schernecke (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland), defensive lineman
Freddie Retter (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) and linebacker
Brandon Hile (Winfield, Pa./Selinsgrove). Cornerback
Lee Coleman (Salem, N.J./Salem) was named to the Second Team.
Â
Novak earns his first career all-region honor after being named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's (PSAC) Eastern Division Offensive Athlete of the Year. The redshirt junior has thrown for 2,674 yards, 25 touchdowns and no interceptions, while also running for 362 yards and five TDs.
Â
Everitt is a first-time all-region lineman and a three-time all-conference selection. The redshirt senior started all 13 games on an offensive line that has helped the Golden Bears average 43.6 points and 436.3 yards per game.
Â
Schernecke earns his second career all-region honor after a Second Team accolade last year. The redshirt senior has been instrumental in keeping Novak upright, protecting his blind side from his position at left tackle. Schernecke and the offensive line are allowing just 0.69 sacks per game.
Â
Retter is the reigning Super Region One Defensive Player of the Year and earns his second All-Region First Team accolade. In 11 games this season while battling injuries, he has totaled 15 tackles, 8.0 TFL and six sacks, along with a fumble recovery.
Â
Hile earned his first all-region honor and won the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year earlier this season. Hile has been a constant presence and leader for one of the top defenses in NCAA Division II during his career. This season, he's racked up team-highs of 60 tackles and 36 solo tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, four pass breakups and four quarterback hurries.
Â
Coleman also earned the first all-region honor of his career. He has started in all 13 games, amassing 36 tackles along with a team-high eight pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.
Â
The Golden Bears (13-0) host Frostburg State in the NCAA quarterfinals and Super Region One championship game noon Saturday, Dec. 6, Andre Reed Stadium.
