Tom York with a flurry of action in a 117-68 victory over the Penn State Schuylkill Nittany Lions on Wednesday night in the team's first action of the season inside Keystone Arena.

The Golden Bears (1-0) were led in scoring by fifth-year guard
Jalen Bryant (Edgewood, Md./John Carroll), who had 20 points on 7-of-11 from the floor, four of which came from beyond the arc. Newcomer
Tobi Ogunbare (Dublin, Ireland/Lawrence (Mass.)) posted a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double, while former teammate
Jordan Nkoa Abessolo (Yaoundé, Cameroon/St. Maria Goretti (Md.)) scored 19 points and brought down eight rebounds – both second on the team - in a dominant victory over the Nittany Lions (2-2).

Outside of a brief period in the opening minute where the visitors had the lead, it was all Golden Bears. The team shot an efficient 63.2 percent from the field, including 50 percent from long distance and 80 percent from the free throw line. KU dominated in the paint with 48 points and 38 rebounds, while the bench players saw meaningful action and pitched in 45 points across six different scorers.

Along with the aforementioned trio of stars, sophomore
Josh McKoy (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) had a well-rounded performance with 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while fellow guard
Yahmir Satterfield (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) opened the season with 14 points. Senior captain
Kameron Roberts (Townsend, Del./Middletown) scored 11 points and had four assists, and big man
Kidd Brizek (Greenville, S.C./Powdersville) notched 10 points on the evening.

PSU Schuylkill had a pair of double-digit scorers in Amir Gray (13 points) and Devin Adams Jr. (12 points). Kutztown held the Nittany Lions to a 37.1 shooting mark from the floor, including allowing just 10 baskets in the first half.

The Maroon and Gold put the 2025 team in the program record books with its performance, scoring the fifth-most points in a game (117) while hitting the second-most three-point baskets in program history (15), tied with KU's outing against SUNY-ESF in 2015. The team moved the ball with efficiency, posting 32 assists, tied for the third-best performance in program history – alongside a matchup at Cheyney in 2017.

KU reached the 117-point mark for the first time since a 120-64 win over Cheyney on December 4, 2019, a game that saw the Golden Bears score the third most points in program history.

Kutztown seeks to bring this momentum across the New Jersey border, as it travels to Georgian Court for a matchup with the Lions at the GCU Wellness Center on Saturday, Nov. 22, with tipoff set for 1 p.m.
