KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown women's basketball has been playing its best ball of the 2024-25 season of late and continued that surge Saturday afternoon, completing its largest win in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play with a 69-49 victory over Millersville in Eastern division action inside Keystone Arena.

The Golden Bears (9-10 overall, 5-6 PSAC) rolled to a 20-point win with strong play on both ends of the floor. Four different players finished in double figures, including 15 points each from
Naia Pulliam (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) and
Abbey Hearn (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen), 13 by
Olivia Smelas (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) and 10 points from
Alexa Windish (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood). KU also forced 18 turnovers, including 13 in the first half, where Kutztown began to insert its dominance.

Kutztown came out in the first half and continued its strong play this week, showing why it had won two games in-a-row prior. KU forced 13 turnovers for the first 20 minutes with ferocious defense, not allowing Millersville to get into a rhythm offensively. After the Marauders took a 2-0 lead 0:59 into the game, the Maroon and Gold scored the next seven points and never trailed again in the opening half, with three different ties.

The game began to turn heavily in KU's favor after intermission as the Golden Bears outscored the Marauders (11-6, 6-5) 23-11 in the third quarter to take a 53-36 lead heading into the fourth. The lead extended to as much as 23 in the final frame.

Bella Quinn (Ashland, Ky./Russell) finished with five points, two assists, one rebound and one steal.
Bella Arcuri (Fallsington, Pa./Pennsbury) tallied four points.
Shannon Remolde (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) contributed three points, two rebounds and two steals.
Taylor Gurysh (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Jess Aponik (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Academy) both added two points to round out the scoring.

Millersville entered the day atop the Eastern Division standings, so within the last two games, KU has defeated the top-two teams in the East entering that game in Ville and Bloomsburg.

Kutztown will play two games on the road next week with the next game at Clarion next Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 5:30 p.m., in what is a non-conference game. KU will then get back into conference play at Shepherd on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m.
