KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Kutztown University field hockey team will be honored with NCAA Division I, II and III national championship-winning teams this coming Monday, July 22, at The White House in Washington, D.C.
Kutztown, led by head coach
Marci Scheuing, captured its first national championship --and the first team national championship in school history-- this past November with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over East Stroudsburg at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. The Golden Bears finished their historic season with a program-record 19 wins and 14 shutouts in 22 contests.
Monday's event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and be streamed live on The White House's YouTube channel. The team will bus down from Kutztown early Monday morning and arrive back on campus later in the day.
