KU led in both contests on Saturday but dropped both by one run. The Golden Bears fell 10-9 in game one, before dropping game two 8-7.

KU is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 21 at Mansfield to wrap up the series with a doubleheader. First pitch in game one is slated for 1 p.m.

Game 1: Mansfield 10, Kutztown 9
Martini, Michael Burns (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman), and Jimmy Kerley (Indian Trail, N.C./Sun Valley) all had a multi-hit, multi-RBI game in a 10-9 game one loss. Martini ended with a team-high three hits, while Burns and Kerley had two each. The trio all ended with two RBI. Bo Barthol (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland) was the other Golden Bear with a multi-hit game to go along with an RBI. Rossillo knocked home KU's other run.

Skrocki got the start on the bump for KU and struck out nine in 5.1 innings of work. Tyler Clevland took the loss in relief. Brad Hood earned the win for Mansfield, while Joseph Gleason earned the save.

The Golden Bears started the scoring in the bottom of the third after back-to-back-to-back RBI singles from Burns, Martini, and Kerley made it 4-0. Mansfield responded with a four-run top of the fourth to tie the game up. KU reopened the lead with five runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 9-4.

A Cole Serfass RBI double made things 9-5 in the top of the fifth. In the top of the sixth, Ryan Scott singled to make it 9-6, before Jacob Houtz hit a grand slam to give Mansfield the 10-9 lead, which it held on to for the win.

Game 2: Mansfield 8, Kutztown 7
Proietto hit his fourth home run of the season, while Bruns and Kerley had three hits a piece in the game two loss. Proietto had two RBI, while Burns, Martini, Barthol, and Wolff had one each.

Kannon Zdimal (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) put in a solid outing in relief for KU but ultimately took the loss after allowing one run and four hits in 4.2 innings of work. Alex Bucolo earned his first win of the season for Mansfield.

Similar to game one, KU jumped out to an early lead, but a seven-run top of the third made it 7-3 Mansfield. Proietto's home run swung the momentum back in KU's favor in the bottom half of the frame to make it 7-5.

In the bottom of the sixth, a Martini RBI double and a Wolff sac fly tied the game at 7-7. The Golden Bears had two runners in scoring positions with one out and eventually loaded the bases, but they left the go ahead run stranded 90 feet away. Mansfield got the winning run in the top of seventh via a RBI single and held on for the 8-7 win
