Box Score

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shannon Lake (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) and Sam Graf (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) scored 62% of their team's goals as the duo both netted career-highs in leading 17th-ranked Kutztown women's lacrosse to a 21-6 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division win Saturday afternoon in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

Lake finished with seven goals and one assist. Her eight points pushed her over 100 career points. Graf tallied six goals and an assist. Lake becomes the fourth current Golden Bear to eclipse 100 career points, joining Emma Meakim (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland), Graf and Lailah ElBouazzaoui (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan). She becomes just the 16th member in program history to achieve the feat.

The Golden Bears improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC.

ElBouazzaoui and Katie Yocum (Hanover, Pa./South Western) both recorded hat tricks with three goals. Olivia Eilbacher (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) and Sammy Ruwet (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) rounded out the scoring for KU with a goal each, with the former adding three assists. Meakim contributed two assists and Lauren Lamorte (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) finished with one assist.

Kutztown jumped out in front in this one in the opening two minutes and was never really threatened the rest of the way. Yocum scored the game's first goal 1:19 after the opening whistle. After the Rams tied the game with their first goal 0:33 later, KU responded by netting five unanswered goals the rest of the period to go on top 6-1 after one, with Lake recording three-of-the-five, tallying her hat trick with 6:28 left in the first. The Maroon and Gold took a nearly double-digit lead into halftime, ahead 13-4, following a Graf free position goal with 0:09 left.

The advantage did reach double figures 0:46 after intermission as another Graf tally brought the score to 14-4. The lead climbed to as many as 13 as Kutztown outscored Shepherd 5-1 in the third quarter and led 18-5 heading into the fourth. KU continued to pour it on in the final frame by scoring three goals-in-a-row and held a 21-5 lead with 5:00 to play.

Jenna Blesson (Sparta, N.J./Lenape Valley Regional) picked up the victory in goal for the Golden Bears and finished with two saves, not called into action too much. Summer Davis (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) and Robin Spector (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) both grabbed a team-high four ground balls.

Kutztown will next host fellow unbeaten conference foe Bloomsburg (6-0, 2-0), which is also undefeated overall, on Wednesday, March 27, at 3 p.m., from Keystone Field.
