MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Trailing 14-13 with three bouts remaining, the 21st-ranked Kutztown wrestling team recorded three straight decisions for nine points in coming from behind to defeat 17th-ranked Millersville, 22-14, Friday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference dual inside Pucillo Gymnasium.
 
The Golden Bears improved to 4-2 in duals overall and the same record in conference duals, claiming a win in their final road match of the regular season and halting a two-match losing streak.
 
Matthew Weinberg (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) tallied an 8-2 decision at 184 to get the rally started. Liam Akers (Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon) earned a 4-0 decision at 197 and then Dustin Swanson (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) concluded the match with a 3-2 decision at 285.
 
KU started positively out of the gate as Nic Allison (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) pinned Bryce Beatty in 2:15 at 125 pounds for an early 6-0 lead. The Marauders (11-7 overall, 2-3 PSAC) went on to win the next three bouts, a technical fall at 133 and two decisions at 141 and 149 to take an 11-6 advantage.
 
That's just when the Maroon and Gold started to get going. Bailey Gimbor (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) notched a 13-5 major decision at 157 and then Dalton Gimbor (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) followed that up with a 6-3 decision at 165 to help Kutztown regain the lead at 13-11 and start a string of five victories in the final six bouts.
 
Kutztown concludes its regular season with a home dual next Thursday, Feb. 16, against East Stroudsburg, on senior night at Keystone Arena. Head coach Rob Fisher and his program will be recognizing Ethan Baney (Hanover, Pa./South Western), Nathaniel Fossett (Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon), Roman Moser (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) and Trent Thompson (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Eastern).
