SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Kutztown University men's basketball team (3-20, 2-15 PSAC) started slow and couldn't recover, falling to Shippensburg (8-15, 4-13 PSAC) 93-52 inside the Heiges Field House Saturday afternoon.
Brent Ricketts Jr. (Seaford, Del./Seaford) led the way offensively for the Golden Bears with 15 points. Juju Pagan (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) grabbed a team-high eight boards for KU, five of which were on the offensive end. Three Raiders ended in double-figures, led by Markus Frank with 23 points. Donovan Hill had a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 boards.
Shippensburg was efficient from the floor, shooting 51.7%, including a 47.6% (10-21) mark from beyond the arc. KU shot a season-worst 31.3% in the game, with a 25.71% mark in the second half. The Raiders outscored the Maroon & Gold 40-28 in the paint and 22-0 in fast break points.
The Golden Bears have five more regular season games remaining, three of which are at Keystone Arena. KU wraps up its three-game road swing against rivals West Chester on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
