Volleyball’s senior day hampered by loss to Golden Rams

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's volleyball team dropped their final home game by a score of 3-0 on Senior Day against West Chester in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division matchup at Keystone Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears (1-25, 0-12 PSAC East) wrapped up their home slate with another formidable opponent in West Chester, as the Golden Rams (13-13, 5-7 PSAC East) read Kutztown's strategy and thumped the home team on their way to a straight-set victory.

West Chester used a strong team effort to top Kutztown, dominating the match with 41 kills and nine aces while leading the game with both blocks (5 to KU's 4) and digs (48 to KU's 44). They were led by CeCe Isenberg, who recorded 11 kills, and Lacie Brown, who posted 28 assists and 14 digs in the victory.

Kutztown only dished out two ace serves, both from sophomore Brynn Buschta (Fogelsville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh). The attack was led by Grace White (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) (9 kills) and Bryanna Carter (Abingdon, Md./Edgewood) (8 kills), while rookie Saige Thibodeaux (Cape Coral, Fla./Ida S. Baker) turned in 13 assists and 12 digs in a losing effort.

Kutztown honored Grace Ingram (Allentown, Pa./William Allen), Julia Post (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) and Anna Parmer (Firestone, Colo./Mead) pregame for Senior Day. Post (2 block assists) and Parmer (2 set assists) each saw time in all three sets for the Golden Bears. The three student-athletes leave KU after being with the team for at least four seasons.

The Golden Bears finish their season this upcoming week with road games at Lock Haven (Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m.) and Bloomsburg (Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.).
