SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Following a dramatic penalty shootout victory over sixth-seeded Mansfield in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference quarterfinal round game Monday night at Andre Reed Stadium, third-seeded Kutztown advanced to the final four and will meet second-seeded East Stroudsburg on Friday, Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m., at Shippensburg University's Robb Sports Complex.

The Golden Bears (14-4 overall) meet the Warriors (15-3) in the second semifinal of the day, with the top-seeded and host Raiders (16-1) against fourth-seeded Bloomsburg (15-4) at noon.

It's the third straight PSAC semifinal for the Maroon and Gold. They were defeated by Shippensburg 1-0 in overtime last season and lost to ESU 2-0 in 2022. KU last played in the PSAC championship game in 2019, falling to the Warriors 1-0. There was one other PSAC championship game appearance in program history, losing to Bloomsburg 1-0 in 1988.

Kutztown advanced out of the quarterfinal round with its second shootout victory of the season. After the Mountaineers got on the scoreboard first,
Marlee Fetrow (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone) tied the score at 1-1 on a goal at the top of the circle after she took an initial pass from
Erin Gonzalez (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot) on a penalty corner 5:20 into the second. It was Fetrow's third goal of the season.

The score would remain 1-1 through another 60 minutes of game play and went into a shootout.
Juliana Donato (Cedarville, N.J./Schalick) and Gonzalez connected on back-to-back attempts and
Mia Kepler (Wall Township, N.J./Wall) stopped the Mounties' first three. Following a make in their fourth attempt,
Sarah Gatehouse (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) sent her team into celebration mode with the conversion.
