Lexy Endres nets first career PSAC East Athlete of the Week honor

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Kutztown women's soccer senior Lexy Endres (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) scored all three goals for the Golden Bears last weekend as they went 1-0-1 against Mountain East foes Charleston (W.Va.) and Concord at the Gannon Invitational. In doing so, Endres earned this week's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division Athlete of the Week honor, announced Tuesday.

In Thursday's 1-1 draw with Charleston, Endres opened the scoring in the fourth minute off a pass from Caroline McDonald (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East). Kutztown, ranked 19th in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Preseason Poll, made the lead stand until the 89th minute when Charleston equalized. Endres finished with three shots (two on frame) in the match.

On Saturday, the Medford, N.J. native and Temple transfer netted a pair of second half goals to help KU overcome a 1-0 deficit and pick up a 2-1 victory. Endres evened the game in the 61st minute and ripped the game-winning goal by the Concord keeper in the 81st. She registered a game-high six shots as the Bears outshot Concord 19-9.

Kutztown opens up play in the PSAC and will play in front of its home crowd for the first time in 2023 when it hosts Millersville Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m., from Keystone Field.
