READING, Pa. -- The Kutztown University men's tennis team fell to Deamen in non-conference action, 7-0, Saturday in a match played indoors at the Hillcrest Racquet Club.
The Wildcats (2-7) doubled up the Golden Bears 6-3 at both first and second doubles to secure the available point.
In singles, Daemen won four flights by straight sets and a sixth singles pro set.
Neal Devkaran (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI Catholic) was the lone Bear (3-3) to capture a set win, taking the first off Luis de Vuyst at second singles in a 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 defeat.
Freshman
Joaquin Perez (Pachuca, Mexico/Escuela Americana) forced his opening set with Alex Lumanog at No. 1 to a tiebreaker, while
Justin Gincauskas (Mississauga, Ontario/Cawthra Park Secondary) did the same against Zachary LaPlante at No. 5.
Kutztown travels to Moravian next Saturday for another non-conference match at 11 a.m.
