KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior Abbey Hearn (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) tallied a career-high 24 points to lead the Kutztown University women's basketball team in a 70-57 setback Wednesday evening against Holy Family inside Keystone Arena.

Hearn also finished with career-bests in field goals made (10), going 10-for-19 from the floor and also connected on three 3-pointers, while adding five rebounds and two blocks for the Golden Bears (1-6 overall), in their final home, non-conference game of the regular season.

Casey Remolde (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) contributed eight points, six rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block and Zara Zerman (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) had six points for the Maroon and Gold.

The Tigers (8-1) led from the opening tip, draining an outside shot for the early 3-0 lead just 0:37 in, and never looked back. They had a 16-12 lead after the opening quarter and saw their advantage climb in double digits in the second quarter, going into halftime ahead 39-28. Kutztown pulled to within just five points twice in the third quarter, with the most recent one at 52-47 with 1:04 left in the frame, but Holy Family scored the next eight points spanning the final two quarters to go back on top by double figures and walked off the court as victors.

Kutztown concludes its non-conference portion of its regular season on Saturday, Dec. 9, when it travels to Philadelphia to take on Chestnut Hill at 1 p.m. PSAC play resumes with two games out west before Christmas as KU takes on Gannon on Monday, Dec. 18, at 5:30 p.m., followed by a game at Clarion the following evening, also at 5:30 p.m.
