BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Kutztown women's volleyball bounced back from an opening set defeat to win the second and tie the match 1-1, but Bloomsburg would win the next two sets and take the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division match 3-1 Friday night.

Scores of the match were 19-25, 25-21, 18-25, 16-25.

The Golden Bears (8-14 overall, 1-8 PSAC) were led by 18 kills and 22 digs from
Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/Sportovni Gymnazium Ludvika Danka) and 14 kills and 11 digs from
Sadie Doss (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg).
Sarah Hess (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) tallied eight kills and two digs.
Cat Farole (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) recorded 34 assists and 11 digs.
Gianna Agosti (Nesquehoning, Pa./Marian Catholic) totaled 16 digs.

Kutztown took the opening lead of the first set on a kill by Doss, but Bloomsburg scored three points in a row and never gave back the lead. Hess tallied a kill to get the second set going and the first 10 combined points were back-and-forth between the two teams. Fialova and Doss connected on back-to-back kills to turn a 6-5 deficit to a 7-6 advantage. KU held a set-high lead of eight on its way to tie the match at 1-1 off a kill by Fialova that ended the second set.

It was the third set in-a-row that the Maroon and Gold recorded the first point as Fialova netted a service ace to put her team on top 1-0. But the Huskies would score three consecutive points and 13 of the next 16 to cushion themselves towards the victory and two set to one lead.

Bloomsburg began set four on a 4-0 spurt and 11-3 run to take control of the set and finish off the match.

Kutztown will next take on Lock Haven on the road tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 28, also beginning at 6 p.m.
