KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Third-ranked Kutztown Field Hockey featured four different goal scorers and sent its seniors off Andre Reed Stadium for the final home regular season game with a 4-0 victory over Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game.

With the win, the Golden Bears (13-2 overall, 6-2 PSAC) clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament, which begins Oct. 31.

Prior to the contest, head coach
Marci Scheuing and her staff recognized 10 members of the program for senior day. Student manager/assistant coach Erika Barbera, along with
Breann Craley (York, Pa./Central York),
Lulu O'Neill (Collingswood, N.J./Collingswood),
Mackenzie Kile (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood),
Alyssa Eager (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley),
Abby Wheeler (Bethlehem, Pa./Northampton),
Shannon Barrett (Shavertown, Pa./Dallas),
Sydney Stupka (New Cumberland, Pa./Red Land),
Andie Sierer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and
Maura Phelan (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton) all celebrated senior day for the Maroon and Gold.

Kile scored on senior day and joined
Jillian Buchman (Drums, Pa./Hazleton),
Erin Gonzalez (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot) and
Megan Doyle (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) as goal scorers on the day. Buchman's tally came just 3:39 in to put the Maroon and Gold out in front early. Kile assisted on the Buchman goal and then found the back of the cage herself 3:43 into the second quarter. Doyle's goal, off an assist by Craley, with 2:34 left in the second stanza, gave her team a commanding 3-0 lead, that they took into halftime. Gonzalez then netted her team-leading seventh goal of the season with 2:53 to go in the third quarter on an assist by
Juliana Donato (Cedarville, N.J./Schalick), her conference-leading 11th assist on the year.

A season-high 24 Golden Bears earned playing time in this one.
Mia Kepler (Wall Township, N.J./Wall) finished with two saves and earned her eighth shutout this year.

Kutztown will conclude conference play with its final PSAC game of the regular season next Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m., at nationally-ranked Millersville. KU will end its season with a non-conference road game at Frostburg State then next Saturday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m.
