KU men’s cross country ranked No. 9 in week two USTFCCCA Atlantic region poll

The Golden Bears improve one spot after a 4th-place finish at the DII/DIII Challenge

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Kutztown University men's cross country team came in at No. 9 in the NCAA DII men's cross country Atlantic region poll released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Tuesday afternoon.

The men improved one spot from the last regional poll released by the USTFCCCA on Sept. 13. The Golden Bears made the jump after a fourth-place finish at the DII/DIII Challenge that took place at Kutztown on Sept. 16. KU battled against multiple ranked teams in the race, besting then No. 6 Lock Haven en route to the fourth-place finish.

The duo of Logan Iacobelli (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland) and Jack Hollar (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) led the way for KU on the day, with both of them finishing in the top 10. Two newcomers, freshman Cody Schabener (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) and sophomore transfer Jay Thompson (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser), also both had strong finishes as their additions to the varsity lineup continue to strengthen head coach Ray Hoffman's rotation.

The Golden Bears are back on the course this Friday, Sept. 30, at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
