MONHTON, Pa. -- Cecelia Knecht (North Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester) recorded her third top 10 finish in four tournaments this fall to lead the Kutztown University women's golf team in Tuesday's Alvernia Fall Invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club.

Knecht, coming off a season-best fourth-place showing at last Saturday's Dickinson Fall Invitational, sunk two pars on the front nine before tallying four more on the back nine on her way to an 18-over par 90. She was one of three players to tie for 10th on a day when scores ran high across the board, ending the round just eight shots off the winning score.

Junior Grace Babinchak (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) continued her strong play this fall with a 91 (+19) to tie for 13th in the 33-player field. Babinchak birdied No. 2, a par 3 playing at 121 yards and matched Knecht with a team-high six pars.

Gabby Cohen (Jeffersonville, N.Y./Sullivan West) toured the 5,810-yard par 72 course in 99 and produced four pars to tie for 17th.

Olivia Donnini (Wapwallopen, Pa./Crestwood) carded a 107 and Alexis Peet (Greentown, Pa./Wallenpaupack) a 112 to round out the Maroon and Gold's entries. Donnini had three pars and Peet two during their respective rounds.

Though nine teams entered players in the tournament, only four fielded full rosters. Host Alvernia claimed the title with a 341 (+53), 11 shots ahead of West Chester (352, +64). Millersville was third at 367 (+79) with the Golden Bears fourth at 387 (+99).

Alvernia's McKylie Boreman edged teammate Rylee Stenzel by one stroke to claim medalist honors with a 10-over 82.

The Golden Bears host the Kutztown Fall Invitational at Moselem Springs Golf Club this coming Sunday and Monday.
