KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- After nearly three hours in a weather delay for torrential rain and storms, the decision was made to suspend Friday's game two of the NCAA Division II Softball Atlantic Super Regional at North Campus Field between top-seeded Kutztown and second-seeded Seton Hill until Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
Seton Hill won Thursday's opening game in the best-of-three series, 7-0, and held a 4-3 lead in game two, Friday, entering the bottom of the third when the teams were pulled from the field for lightning in the area. Storms battered the area for the better part of the afternoon and the teams were unable to return to action.
Saturday morning the game will restart from the point it was halted, with Seton Hill batting in the bottom of the third. The Griffins (40-10) are in position to advance to the NCAA DII Championships in Denver next week with a victory, while the Golden Bears (40-14) need to win two games to represent the Atlantic Region in Colorado. If Kutztown can rally for the victory in game two, a decisive game three would be contested approximately 30 minutes following the completion of game two.
