WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Kutztown University baseball concluded its regular season portion of its conference slate, dropping both games at West Chester University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division action.

The Golden Bears (10-34 overall, 4-20 PSAC) were in it until the very end in game one, leading in the fifth inning of the initially scheduled, seven-inning opener. But the Golden Rams (27-9, 15-6) scored four unanswered runs, including a walk-off in the eighth to take game one 5-4. WCU outhit KU 12-4 and had two, four-run innings in game two, winning 12-0 to sweep the series.

Mike Kelly (Schwenksville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) led the Kutztown lineup with three hits on the day and scored two runs.
Zach Moretski (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.),
Gavin Moretski (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) and
Colt Narciso (Norristown, Pa./Pope John Paul II) each finished with two hits.
Mitchell Peers (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) and
Mike Piscotty (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Hanover Area) both had a hit and an RBI in game one.

Kelly led off the opener with a single, stole second two batters later, and then came around to score on a single the opposite way by Peers to put KU ahead 1-0.

West Chester tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, but the Maroon and Gold answered with a three-run, top of the fifth, highlighted by a Piscotty home run and RBIs by
Gavin Moretski (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) and
Zach Moretski (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) to put KU out in front 4-1.

The Golden Rams scored twice in the fifth and once in the sixth and the game would go into extras. J.R. Gifford drove in the winning run on a double in the bottom of the eighth to walk it off for West Chester.

In the nightcap, West Chester brought it early, scoring three runs in the third, four in the fourth and four in the sixth. Kutztown committed three errors, which helped WCU.

Kutztown will have two days of non-conference games next week. KU will play one at Chestnut Hill on Tuesday, May 3, before hosting Caldwell in the season finale the following day for a doubleheader at North Campus Field, beginning at 1 p.m.
