PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Kutztown University softball wrapped up three straight days of doubleheaders away from North Campus Field and finished it up in style, winning both games of a non-conference doubleheader at Chestnut Hill College. Game one was 7-0 and game two was 9-3 in favor of KU.

The Golden Bears (24-10), who came into Tuesday's games receiving votes in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association national poll, won for the fourth time in as many games and has won seven of its last eight games overall. The games against the Griffins (6-26) were the last scheduled non-conference games for the Maroon and Gold, who finish off the regular season with 12 games against six Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponents, beginning with Mansfield at home this Friday, April 15.

Hannah Reimel (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) led the way offensively for KU, finishing with four hits, two in each game and added two RBIs and scored a run.
Jenna Lipowski (Nanticoke, Pa./Greater Nanticoke Area) and
Sarah Harvey (Swanton, Vt./Missisquoi Valley Union) both recorded three hits with Lipowski getting all three in game two, to go along with two RBIs.

Kate Ostaszewski (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan),
Zoe Texidor (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township),
Alyssa Donato (Cedarville, N.J./Cumberland Regional) and
Brianna Hughes (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) all had two hits scattered throughout the day.

Naya Darnowski (Manchester, N.J./Manchester Township) made her first start since Feb. 27, in left field. The freshman made the most of it and hit her first career home run, a three-run shot in the fourth inning of game one that capped the KU scoring. It followed Reimel's third of the year, a solo drive. Harvey got the scoring going in the top of the first with an RBI single and then Donato followed with a two-out, two-run single to give KU a 3-0 lead.

Bridget Bailey (Norwood, Pa./Interboro) went the distance, allowing just three hits and striking out eight to win her PSAC-leading 13th decision this season.

In game two, Kutztown outhit Chestnut Hill 14-5 overall and it showed on the scoreboard. Hughes hit her ninth home run on the year, second-most in the PSAC, in the top of the first, a two-run dinger that put KU ahead 2-0.

The Griffins cut their deficit in half in the bottom of the first, but the Golden Bears answered with three runs in the second coming off two RBI singles by Lipowski and Harvey and a passed ball that brought home Texidor for a 5-1 advantage. KU scored a run in four of the final five innings and Harvey had a solid outing, winning for the fourth time this season, allowing five hits while striking out six.

Kutztown hosts Mansfield on Friday, April 15. Game one is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
