LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Casey Remolde (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) has been a regular on the weekly Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference awards list for her standout play, primarily on the defensive end of the court. She was at it again this past weekend as her overall performance in a two-game stretch earned her this week's PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honor, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
 
It is the first PSAC weekly award for the Philadelphia native this season and 12th of her career.
 
In two games last Sunday and Monday, the senior forward nearly had back-to-back double-doubles, while stuffing the stat sheet on both ends of the floor. At No. 11 IUP, Remolde recorded 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for her first double-double this season. She also added a career-best six blocks and had a steal, playing 39-of-40 minutes. The next day, in a win at Seton Hill, Remolde tallied 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four blocks and a season-high three steals. Remolde currently leads the PSAC in blocks with 25.
 
Kutztown takes a break for the Christmas holiday and will be back in action, at home, on Friday, Dec. 30, when it hosts California (Pa.) at 1 p.m., from Keystone Arena.
