ERIE, Pa. – Sarah Gatehouse (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and Olivia Blasone (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) scored in back-to-back quarters and fourth-ranked Kutztown Field Hockey held on for a 2-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference win at Mercyhurst Saturday evening.
 
It is the eighth straight victory for the Golden Bears (14-2 overall, 6-1 PSAC), tied for the longest win streak since 2018 for the program.
 
Gatehouse netted her second goal of the season in the first quarter to open up the scoring. Rachel Dusman (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) assisted on the goal. It was her eighth assist this season. She ranks second in the PSAC with 34 points.
 
Blasone doubled up the Maroon and Gold lead with eighth tally on the year, second-most on the team. Erin Gonzalez had the assist.
 
Kutztown's regular season home finale is a big one. KU hosts second-ranked East Stroudsburg (13-1, 5-1) on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., from Andre Reed Stadium. The winner of that game will have the inside track at the top seed in the PSAC Tournament and would have a bye to the semifinals and host the final four.
