BROOKVILLE, Pa. -- Competing in its final tournament of 2022, Kutztown University women's golf saw its leaders, Cecelia Knecht (North Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester) and Olivia Donnini (Wapwallopen, Pa./Crestwood), work their way into the top 15 of the individual standings and Alexis Peet (Greentown, Pa./Wallenpaupack) set a new season-best score during Sunday's first round of the Clarion Fall Invitational at Pinecrest Country Club.

Knecht registered eight pars and shot higher than bogey on just one hole on her way to an 11-over par 83. She's currently tied for eighth place, nine shots back of leader Sarah White (Gannon).

Donnini got around the 5,812-yard, par 72 course in 87 (+15). She birdied No. 11, a par 4 playing at 345 yards, and had six pars.

Peet, a freshman, improved upon her season-low score by one stroke, shooting 88 Sunday. The Greentown, Pa., native carded seven pars. Following Peet was Grace Babinchak (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) with a 94 and fellow freshman Gabby Cohen (Jeffersonville, N.Y./Sullivan West) with a 100. Babinchak and Cohen each collected three pars, while Cohen also put up a birdie on No. 7, a 460-yard par 5.

Four players shot sub 80 rounds and all were from Gannon. White (74), Andrea Martinez (77), Ditte Petersen (78) and Ana Maestro (79) sent the Golden Knights (308, +20) to a commanding 27-stroke advantage over second-place Mercyhurst (335, +47).

West Chester is third at 338, 14 shots ahead of Kutztown at 352. Millersville (354) and Clarion (370) round out the field.

Final round play from Pinecrest CC will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
