MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – She did it again. Senior forward
Brittany Arentz (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) scored the game-winning goal in double overtime, this time to lead the fourth-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team to a 2-1, come-from-behind victory at Millersville University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division action Wednesday night.
The Golden Bears (5-0 overall, 3-0 PSAC East) fell behind 1-0 after a Marauders (2-2-1, 2-2) goal by Morgan Winchock in the 68th minute in the run of play off a nice feed at the outside of the six-yard box by Emma Elwell.
Coming up on just five minutes remaining, Kutztown would not go down and suffer its first defeat of the season as sophomore
Isabella Rossetti (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) found the back of the net for the first time in her collegiate career with just 6:50 left to tie the score at 1-1.
After the first 10-minute overtime period,
Dana Wentz (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) got onto the ball and passed it down the right side of the field from about 30 yards out onto the run of Arentz. Arentz then beat the Millersville goalie with her first touch in the 106th minute for her second goal this season, both were golden goal, game-winners. There was 4:13 left on the clock.
Emme Wolfel (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) finished with two saves in goal for KU.
Kutztown hosts Shippensburg in a PSAC East game this Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m., from Keystone Field.
