EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The eighth-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team spread the wealth and had four different goal scorers in a 4-0 road victory on Saturday night at East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division matchup.
The Golden Bears (4-0 overall, 2-0 PSAC East) are off to their best start to a season since 2017 when they won their first 13 games.
Kylee MacLeod (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts),
Alisea Munshower (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York),
Sadie Goad (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) and
Kayla Argen (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) all found the back of the net for Kutztown, two in each half, and snapped a three-game losing streak against the Warriors (1-1-1, 0-1-1).
Kutztown outshot East Stroudsburg 17-12, 11-2 on goal, and created a number of more chances on the offensive third than ESU. KU also held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
MacLeod netted her first career goal in Maroon and Gold, and it proved to be the game-winner, off a corner kick and an assist by
Isabella Rossetti (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East).
Cassandra Baker (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) started in goal and finished with two saves to earn the victory.
Kutztown hosts Shepherd in a PSAC game on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., at Keystone Field.
