KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Jenna Lipowski (Nanticoke, Pa./Greater Nanticoke Area) will have her name go down in the record books for the Kutztown University softball program, as the senior was named a 2021 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American, the Association announced Tuesday. Lipowski earned third team recognition.
Â
Lipowski becomes just the 13th NFCA All-American in program history and 18th overall.
Â
The NFCA All-America teams are voted on by the Association's All-America Committees. In Division II, the committee is comprised of one, member head coach from each of the NCAA's eight regions. All student-athletes that were voted to the first- and second-team All-Region teams were eligible for All-America consideration.
Â
The Nanticoke native enjoyed a super, senior year. She finished the season with team-highs in batting average (.406), home runs (13) and RBIs (49), with the first two categories being career-highs. Lipowski also had 54 hits, 23 runs scored and a .759 slugging percentage. She led the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in walks (31), ranked third in RBIs and on-base percentage (.521) and was fourth in slugging and HRs.
Â
Lipowski also earned NFCA and D2CCA All-Atlantic Region honors and was voted to the All-PSAC Second Team.
Â
With COVID-19 granting an extra year of eligibility from the 2020 season, the plan is for Lipowski to return to the program to play one final year next season. The Golden Bears finished their year 33-15 overall, advancing to the PSAC semifinals and to the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament.
