Women's Soccer Moves Up to First in NCAA Atlantic Region Rankings, Remains Third in National Poll

NCAA Regional Rankings | National Poll

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's soccer team moved up to first in the Atlantic Region in the NCAA's second edition of its regional rankings. KU remained third in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll.

The Golden Bears (15-1, 13-1 PSAC) sit atop the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division standings and will host a PSAC quarterfinal game at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Keystone Field.

If KU wins Wednesday night, Nov. 3, at Lock Haven, or if West Chester loses or ties at Bloomsburg, Kutztown will clinch the PSAC East regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the PSAC Tournament, giving KU the ability to host the PSAC Final Four Nov. 12-14, if it advances out of the quarterfinal round.

KU has qualified for the NCAA Tournament eight times in its history, including a three-year stretch from 2016-18. The NCAA Tournament begins Nov. 17-18.

Seven teams will be selected from the Atlantic Region to compete in the NCAA Tournament, with the No. 1 seed earning a bye in the first round. Conference champions from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and Mountain East Conference earn automatic qualification into the tournament.

NCAA regional rankings will be announced Nov. 10, with the Selection Show scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 15.

Kutztown returns to action on the road against Lock Haven University at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3.
