Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – In a matchup of two of the top three offensive and defensive teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, the fifth-ranked Kutztown University field hockey team fell 5-1 at Millersville Wednesday night in a PSAC game at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.

The Golden Bears (8-2 overall, 2-1 PSAC) entered the game as one of only two teams in the PSAC with no losses in league play. The loss snapped a season-long, five-game win streak and was also just the first defeat on the road this season for KU.

The Marauders (10-1, 3-1) ranked second in the PSAC in scoring (4.7 goals per game) and first in goals against (.50), while the Maroon and Gold were third in scoring (4.0 goals per game) and second in goals against (.89). The five Millersville goals was a season-high against the KU defense.

Jillian Buchman (Drums, Pa./Hazleton) scored Kutztown's lone goal of the contest with 1:48 left in the first quarter after Millersville opened with two tallies.

KU had its chances on the offensive end. Millersville only outshot KU 14-13 overall, but 10-6 in shots on goal. The Maroon and Gold had a 17-10 advantage in penalty corners.
