KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's soccer team is ranked second in the Atlantic Region in the NCAA's first edition of its regional rankings. KU remained third in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll.
The Golden Bears (13-1, 11-1 PSAC) sit atop the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division standings and have clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament Nov. 9-14. KU has qualified for the NCAA Tournament eight times in its history, including a three-year stretch from 2016-18. The NCAA Tournament begins Nov. 17-18.
Seven teams will be selected from the Atlantic Region to compete in the NCAA Tournament, with the No. 1 seed earning a bye in the first round. Conference champions from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and Mountain East Conference earn automatic qualification into the tournament.
Undefeated Concord (11-0-3) ranks first in the Atlantic Region.
NCAA regional rankings will be announced Oct. 27, Nov. 3, and Nov. 10, with the Selection Show scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 15.
Kutztown returns to action at home against Bloomsburg University (fourth in Atlantic Region) at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27.
