KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Kayla Argen (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) continued her mastery of scoring as the senior took a pass from classmate
Savanna Harrison (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) and used her left foot to find the back of the net and the golden goal defeated East Stroudsburg 2-1 in overtime Saturday afternoon in the rain at Keystone Field in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division action.
The Golden Bears (12-1 overall, 10-1 PSAC East) have now won two games in-a-row following their first defeat of the season to West Chester last Saturday, Oct. 9.
Argen now has eight goals this season which leads the conference. Her goal came in the 97th minute, the seventh minute of overtime after Kutztown tied the game on a goal by
Caroline Wood (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) in the 72nd minute, 12:59 after the Warriors (5-6-1, 4-6-1) scored the opener. Argen also had the assist on Wood's tally.
Kutztown outshot East Stroudsburg 17-5 overall and 12-3 on goal. KU also held a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Emme Wolfel (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) finished with two saves to earn the victory.
Kutztown has one week off until its next game, at Shippensburg next Saturday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m.
