KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's basketball team returns home after a three-game hiatus, as it hosts Bloomsburg University Wednesday evening, Jan. 29, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division matchup at Keystone Arena.
The Keystone Arena floor will be a welcoming site for the Golden Bears (11-8 overall, 8-5 PSAC), who went 1-2 on their recent three-game road trip, but will be back on their home court where they are 6-2 on the year.
This week is also PSAC Sportsmanship & Officials Appreciation week. At all PSAC home competitions during Winter Officials Appreciation and Sportsmanship Week, every league team will showcase its continued dedication to sportsmanship by participating in a pregame handshake with the officials and opponents. Teams will present the officials with "Thank You" cards prior to contest or will leave them in their locker room.
Kutztown sits in a tie for third in the PSAC East standings, locked with Shepherd, KU's most recent opponent.
Junior
Rylee Derr (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) leads the Maroon and Gold in scoring at 15.4 points per game. Derr is on top of the conference with 60 made three-pointers. Freshman

Expect a defensive battle between the two teams, as Kutztown and Bloomsburg both rank in the top-five in team defense. KU is allowing just 62.6 ppg, fourth in the PSAC, and the Huskies give up 63.8 ppg, which is good for fifth. Kutztown's opponents are shooting 38.5-percent from the floor, fourth-lowest in the conference.
This is the first matchup between the top-two teams in the East Division, and PSAC final four participants from last season.
