KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's rugby team got off on the right foot to kick off the 2019 fall season, taking down Schuylkill River Rugby Club 67-0 last Saturday afternoon on the North Campus rugby pitch.
The match was never in question as the Golden Bears jumped ahead early and continued to push forward, with the outcome never in doubt.
Six different players recorded tries, three of which had multiple.
Ryan Nolan (Drogheda, Ireland/Drogheda) led the way with three tries, followed by
Aaron Gray (Washington, D.C./Perry Street Prep) and
Callum Bartlett (Southend, Essex/Westcliff) each with two.
Jacob Grana (),
Tai Kauwe (Orem, Utah/Pleasant Grove) and
Keyon McCloud-Holman (Philadelphia, Pa./Benjamin Franklin) all contributed one try a piece.
Thorne O'Connell (Johannesburg, South Africa/Jeppe) finished the day with six conversions.
Kutztown returns to action this Saturday, Sept. 7, on the road at Mary Washington. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start.
