KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's rugby team picked up a massive victory in Rugby East action, scoring 26 straight points after trailing early to take down Army 29-12 last Saturday afternoon at the North Campus Rugby Pitch.
It was the third straight win for the Golden Bears (3-0 overall) in as many games.
After the Black Knights scored first opened the match with a tally in the opening few minutes, KU got onto the scoreboard thanks to a 20-yard run by
Thorne O'Connell (Johannesburg, South Africa/Jeppe).
Callum Bartlett (Southend, Essex/Westcliff) ,
Keyon McCloud-Holman (Philadelphia, Pa./Benjamin Franklin) and
Brock Stinson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Coronado) also recorded tallies. O'Connell had three conversions and a penalty kick.
Kutztown next hosts Navy on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. at the North Campus Rugby Pitch.
