KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team will honor its five seniors, Makayla Bowman (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), Jordan Klebe (Bishopville, Md./Stephen Decatur), Amanda Lehman (York, Pa./West York Area), Lauren Schmidt (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and Emily Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Hubert Catholic), on Saturday afternoon, April 27, before its final regular-season home game of the 2019 season against the Mercyhurst University Lakers in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Andre Reed Stadium.
 
The quintet has led the Golden Bears (7-8 overall, 5-6 PSAC) to their best season under second-year head coach Jackie Stezzi and one of the winningest seasons in program history. The five PSAC victories are the second most in a season in KU history. KU can match the program record of six league wins (6-0 in 1984) with a win against the Lakers (11-5, 8-3) on Saturday.
 
Bowman is a four-year member of the Golden Bears and has played in 66 career games, starting each one, the most in program history. Bowman ranks in the top-five at KU for her career in goals (116), assists (34) and points (150). She also has 65 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers and won 26 draw controls. She has been named a PSAC Athlete of the Week. In the classroom, Bowman is a two-time PSAC Scholar Athlete. Bowman will graduate in December with a degree in accounting and minor in forensics.
 
Klebe is a team captain and a four-year member of the Golden Bears and has played in 36 career games. She has eight goals and seven assists in her four years, including a career-high six goals and four assists this season. At this year's KU All Sports Celebration, Klebe won the Golden Bear Courage award for her time both on the field and away it. Klebe will graduate in May with a degree in communication studies and minors in PR, professional writing and digital media.
 
Lehman is a four-year member of the Golden Bears and has played in 66 career games, starting each one, the most in program history. Lehman ranks seventh all-time with 131 career ground balls and 10th with 55 caused turnovers. She has three goals and two assists, along with 18 draw controls throughout her four years. In the classroom Lehman is a four-time Dean's List Honoree and a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete. Lehman will graduate in May with a degree in finance and financial planning.
 
Schmidt is a team captain and a four-year member of the Golden Bears and has played in 66 career games, starting each one, the most in program history. Schmidt ranks in the top-10 in KU history in career goals (92), assists (32), points (124), ground balls (102), draw controls (122) and caused turnovers (66). Her 34 goals and 46 points this season are both career-highs. She was voted the team MVP this season, and also earned PSAC Athlete of the Week honors in April. Schmidt will graduate in May with a degree in biology/allied health.
 
Smith is a team captain and a four-year member of the Golden Bears, playing in 66 career games, starting each one, the most in program history. Smith is the school record holder for draw controls in a game (11), season (61) and career (144+). She has posted career-highs in goals (23) and assists (12) this season. She ranks fourth in ground balls (167), second in caused turnovers (88) and fifth in assists (34). Smith will graduate in May with a degree in psychology.
