Lee, Williams Combined For 49 Points in Leading Men's Hoops to a Playoff-Clinching Home Win Against Bloomsburg

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) and Moe Williams (Townsend, Del./Life Center Academy) of the Kutztown University men's basketball team combined to score almost half of the century mark and KU nearly scored the century mark as a team as it continued its winning ways over Bloomsburg University, taking the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division game 99-77 Wednesday night at Keystone Arena and in doing so clinched a PSAC postseason berth.
 
The Golden Bears (13-10 overall, 7-8 PSAC) have now won seven straight over the Huskies (5-15, 2-13) and 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two teams.
 
Lee tallied a game-high 27 points, just missing a triple-double with eight assists and six rebounds to go along with two steals and a block. Williams recorded his sixth double-double of the year, scoring 22 points and bringing in 10 rebounds. He also dished out six assists.
 
Kutztown as a team recorded 30 assists, the most in a single game since Nov. 11, 2017. Eight Golden Bears contributed at least one assist.
 
The Maroon and Gold trailed 2-0 and 4-3. They were behind for a total of 1:04 throughout the course of the game. KU turned a 20-15 game into 30-18 in a matter of 4:25 in the first half and the Huskies never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.
 
Ahead 33-25 and 5:35 on the clock in the first half, Kutztown scored the next 16 points in a span of 3:51 to jump ahead by 24, 49-25, and went into the locker rooms up 50-32.
 
KU remained in front the entirety of the second half and never allowed Bloomsburg closer than 16 points.
 
All 12 active players appeared for the Golden Bears and 10 etched their names into the score column.
 
Josh Townsend (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) was the third Kutztown player in double-figures, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds. Ricky Hicks (Coatesville, Pa./Polytech) and Da'Quan Granberry (Linwood, Pa./Chichester) both had eight points with Hicks reaching six assists. Austin Laughlin (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley), who made his fourth straight start, and Facundo Arens (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Bahia Blanca) each netted seven points. Laughlin tallied four assists while Arens added two.
 
Kiyon Hardy (Philadelphia, Pa./The Shipley School) recorded four points and two assists, and Kyree Generett (York, Pa./William Penn) and David Johnson (Dunellen, N.J./Dunellen) both finished with two points. KyAire Sumpter (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) and Dylan Elliott (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) found themselves on the stat sheet. Sumpter came away with a rebound and Elliott contributed an assist for KU.
 
Kutztown travels to West Chester this Saturday, Feb. 9, beginning at 3 p.m.
