KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The seventh-ranked Kutztown University men's rugby team dominated the first half of play, outscoring No. 11 Notre Dame (Ohio) 33-5 on route to a 47-22 victory in Rugby East action Saturday at the North Campus Rugby Pitch.
The Golden Bears (5-1 overall, 3-0 Rugby East) have now won two straight and are undefeated in the conference.
Daquan Perry (Philadelphia, Pa./Conestoga) and
Ryan Nolan (Drogheda, Ireland/Drogheda) led Kutztown with two try's each.
Breyten Maritz (Cape Town, South Africa/Paul Roos),
Tai Kauwe (Orem, Utah/Pleasant Grove) and
Keyon McCloud-Holman (Philadelphia, Pa./Benjamin Franklin) all contributed one try on the day.
Thorne O'Connell (Johannesburg, South Africa/Jeppe) went six-for-seven on conversions.
Kutztown is now one win away from a conference championship. KU will host No. 16 St. Bonaventure Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m.
