KUTZTOWN, Pa. – In the midst of a four-game slide, the Kutztown University women's volleyball team will look to get back to winning ways this weekend, welcoming Shippensburg University and the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown to Keystone Arena on Sept. 28-29. First serve will be at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, with Saturday's match against UPJ doubling as Family Day.

Kutztown (6-7, 0-4 PSAC) has played some of the toughest teams in the league in its first two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) weekends. Going against the Northwest Division, KU faced nationally-ranked Gannon and tough Edinboro, Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst squads. While set scores didn't show in Kutztown's favor, the Golden Bears know they left opportunities on the floor and could have very-well come away 2-2.
Moving ahead, the road remains just as stout with 14-2 Shippensburg and 7-8 Pitt-Johnstown coming to campus.
The focal point of the KU offense has been emerging sophomore
Holly Owen (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham). She ranks fifth in the league and second in KU's PSAC Southeast Division at 3.76 kills/set and has proven to be one of the best hitters in the league.
Senior
Brittney Moyer (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain (Lock Haven)) enters as KU's most effective outside hitter, finishing at a career-high .217 clip.
Defensively, KU is holding opponents to a .164 percentage, giving the offense opportunities to put the ball on the floor.
Sydney Wilson (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) has been her usual self on the backline as one of the league's leaders at 228 digs this season – 5.07 per set.
Shippensburg comes to Keystone Arena Friday night leading the league in kills (14.16) and digs per set (21.04), making it one of the strongest teams in the entire conference. Saturday, Pitt-Johnstown presents a great opportunity to finish the weekend strong. It brings in a similar record as KU and has not been as strong offensively as it has been in prior years.
Following Family Day weekend, KU remains home to face division-leading East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
