WEST CHESTER, Pa. –
Lauren Schmidt (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and
Sarah Gabriele (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) each scored twice in the Kutztown University women's lacrosse team's 18-8 loss at ninth-ranked West Chester University on Wednesday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game at Vonnie Gros Field.
The Golden Bears (5-3, 1-3 PSAC) trailed 6-4 midway through the first half, but the Golden Rams (5-1, 2-1) went on an 8-0 run that carried into the second half to break the game open.
Schmidt scored twice Wednesday – her sixth goal in the last two games.
Gabriele scored twice, extending her season-opening streak to score two or more goals in all six of her goals this year. She moved into fifth in KU history with 31 career assists (one Wednesday) and 87 career draw controls (three).

For West Chester, Sami Barnett and Kristen Vath led the way with five goals apiece. Olivia Martin scored four times and Ashley Pyle netted a hat-trick.
The Golden Bears return home on Saturday, April 1, to take on Mercyhurst University at Andre Reed Stadium beginning at 1 p.m.
