LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team hiot the road for the first time in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play on Thursday, dropping a 15-3 decision to 13th-ranked Lock Haven University at Charlotte Field.
Sarah Gabriele (Felton, Pa./York Catholic) scored her 97th and 98th career goals – both in the first half. She fired a team-high eight shots and picked up four draw controls.
Madison Carlucci (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) also scored for KU on her only shot of the day.
Kutztown was able to gain possession off of draws with a 13-6 advantage in draw controls, but lost the turnover battle 23-16.
As a team, Lock Haven out-shot Kutztown, 31-15.
Rachel Engler led Lock Haven with four goals, while Shannon Bissnette also notched a hat-trick with three.
Kutztown (4-2, 0-2 PSAC) returns home on Saturday, March 25, at 1 p.m. to face Gannon University.
