ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team proved itself too strong for the Cedar Crest College Falcons on Saturday, finishing with top times in nearly every event and winning by a 137-93 final score.
The distance swim of the 1650-Free produced two PSAC-marks for KU, who is still in its tapering down season before gearing up for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's Championships, Feb. 21-24. Lindsey Brenneman and
Gab Louden (Crum Lynne, Pa./Ridley) posted times of 18:43.55 and 19:31.04, respectively, continuing to hit their established PSAC qualification marks.
Claire Frank (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) improved on her previous time of 25.42 in the 50-free, touching the wall with a time of 25.07, a time which ranks tenth-best in school history.
KU swept its first eight events, with top finishes in every contest, getting itself out to a sizeable advantage. Unable to gain more team points, the Golden Bears continued to outpace the Falcons through the final events, claiming the victory by 44 points.
Kutztown will travel to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. following the holiday break for training, culminating with the Westminster Snowbird Invitational on Jan. 6.
