PREVIEW: Men's Basketball Travels to Take on Jefferson University

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – After nine days since its last game, the Kutztown University men's basketball team will return to the court at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Jefferson University in nonconference action.
 
After splitting their first two games of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schedule, the Golden Bears (3-1 overall, 1-1 PSAC) will take on the Rams (4-4, 0-0 CACC) in a midweek matchup.
 
KU fell by two points 89-87 at California (Pa.) back on Saturday, Nov. 18 before bouncing back the following day to defeat Slippery Rock 86-72.
 
Senior point guard Ethan Ridgeway (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) was named the PSAC East Co-Athlete of the Week after combining to score 70 points in the two games. He tallied a career-high 40 points against the Vulcans, and then followed that up with a 30-point, nine-assist performance versus the Rock.
 
Ridgeway is averaging 24.3 points per game (2nd in the PSAC) and eight assists per game (1st in the PSAC).
 
Redshirt-junior Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) and junior Dan Cuevas (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) have both scored in double-figures every game this season. Lee is second on the team averaging 21.5 ppg and Cuevas is third with 18.5 ppg.
 
Cuevas recorded his first career double-double against California, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
 
Lee is tops in the league with 4.0 steals per game.
 
Redshirt-freshman Moe Williams (Townsend, Del./Life Center Academy) is averaging 9.0 ppg and leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per game.
 
Kutztown is second in scoring in the PSAC at 99.0 ppg, and second in margin of victory at 18.5.
 
Jefferson University (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) is on a two-game win streak. The Rams beat Bridgeport 103-81 in their last game on Sunday, Nov. 26. They are led by Naismith Hall of Fame head coach Herb Magee, who is in his 51st season as head coach of the team, compiling 1,056 wins, which ranks him first in NCAA Division II.
 
Jefferson is scoring 72.9 ppg and have five players scoring in double-figures, led by Alexander Gorton (18.4 ppg).
 
KU was voted 9th in the latest Division Two Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Atlantic Region poll.
 
After Tuesday night's game, Kutztown will host a double-header against PSAC opponents Meryhurst and Gannon on Saturday, Dec 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3.
