KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Danielle Amato (Henderson, Nev./Coronado) hit a towering RBI-double with one out in the bottom of the seventh to allow Kutztown University to walk off, 5-4 winners and split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader against Millersville University Friday at North Campus Field.
The Golden Bears (22-10, 5-3 PSAC) fell in game one, 4-3.
KU found itself down 4-2 heading into the top of the third in game two. The Golden Bears got two RBIs from
Danielle Sienko (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter) to set the stage for Amato's walk off. Sienko doubled to left field to score
Blayse Cholish (Peckville, Pa./Valley View) in the third and followed it up with a sacrifice fly that scored Cholish in the fifth to tie the game at four.
The first KU batter of the bottom of the seventh was retired before Cholish tripled to right field, bringing up Amato. Amato found herself down 0-2, fouled a pitch off and then drove a ball off the wall in left field. She reached second base before Cholish came around to score the winning run and give KU a 5-4 victory.
Bridget Newman (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford) pitched five innings of relief, allowing four hits and one earned run to pick up her fifth victory of the season.
Millersville (18-12, 5-3 PSAC) used a four-run sixth inning to take the opener, 4-3. Kutztown got runs in the first, third and fifth to take a 3-0 lead before MU's offense responded with the strong sixth.

Cholish went 4-for-4 with four runs scored in game two and added an RBI in the opener. Amato went 3-for-4 in game two, with three RBIs. Sienko finished the day 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Savannah Nierintz (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby) hit 2-for-3 with a run scored in game one, while also throwing a complete-game.
Heather Lutz went a combined 4-for-6 with four RBIs and one run score to lead the way on offense for Millersville. Brianna Andraos threw a complete-game in MU's game one victory, allowing five hits and three earned runs.
Kutztown returns to the diamond with a road PSAC doubleheader at Shippensburg University on Sunday, April 10. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
