Softball's Third Round Game Suspended Due to Rain

PSAC Championship Page (Including Schedule)

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University softball team got its third-round Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoff elimination game against Gannon University suspended in the top of the fourth inning due to a heavy downpour at Veterans Park.  Gannon holds a 4-0 lead heading into its at-bats to start off the inning.

The game will resume tomorrow (Friday) April 29 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Park.

With the forecast calling for rain, the two teams tried to get as much as they could in.  The light rain turning into a downpour wasn't enough to cool off Gannon's bats as the Golden Knights scored all four of its runs in the top half of the third inning.

Earlier in the day, the Golden Bears defeated the Indiana University of Pennsylvania 3-2 in their opening elimination game.  The loser of tomorrow's resumed game between KU and Gannon will be eliminated from PSAC postseason play while the winner will play the winner of Lock Haven and Millersville in the next round.

Live stats for the resumed game can be found here.
