WILSON, N.C. – The Kutztown University baseball team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader against Lock Haven University Saturday at Fleming Stadium to end its spring break trip. The Golden Bears fell in the first game 9-1 and the second 18-4.
Brady McNab (Hatboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood (Frederick C.C.)) led Kutztown on offense, finishing a combined 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored on the afternoon.
Bo Rottet (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua) went 3-for-3 in game two while
Tanner Miller (Elizabethville, Pa./Upper Dauphin) finished it 2-for-2 with a run scored.
Lock Haven jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning in game one. It added two more in the top of the fourth and coasted to the 9-1 win.
In game two, the Golden Bears scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Lock Haven answered with seven runs in both the top of the second and third, and went on to win 18-4.
Kutztown finished its trip 7-5 and now sits at 10-11 (1-3 PSAC) on the season.
Evan McFarland went a combined 6-for-8 with eight RBIs and four runs scored for Lock Haven (7-6, 3-1 PSAC).
The Golden Bears return to the diamond on Wednesday, March 16 with a short trip down the US-22 East to take on Chestnut Hill in a doubleheader. First pitch for game one is set for 1:00 p.m.
