Clements Named PSAC East Coach the Year, DiGalbo Freshman of the Year, Morgan Becomes First Offensive Lineman in PSAC History to be Named Athlete of the Year

PSAC East Release | PSAC West Release

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) became the first offensive lineman in conference history to be named the Offensive Athlete of the Year, head coach Jim Clements was named the Coach of the Year, Collin DiGalbo (Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) was named the Freshman of the Year, and the Kutztown University football team had 11 players recognized on Wednesday as part of this year's All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division team, as voted on by the league's coaches.

Kutztown's 11 honorees are its most in 36 years and the third-most in program history, behind a record 12 in 1973 and 1980.

The PSAC began handing out "Of the Year" awards in 1985. 62 Athlete of the Year plauqes have been awarded to offensive players in the East and West divisions since then, spread out across quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers. None of them have been offensive lineman – until now.

Morgan, a senior left tackle, has earned the reputation from the league's coaches as the most valuable player in the PSAC East. Also an All-PSAC East First Team honoree, Morgan, a consensus First Team All-American last year, is now a three-time All-PSAC East First Teamer.

Morgan was one of 11 All-PSAC Golden Bears recognized on Wednesday. There were:

First Team Offense

C – Ben Cregger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove)
WR – Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg)

First Team Defense

Kutztown took 3-of-4 major awards, as Shippensburg's Allen Holman was named the Defensive Athlete of the Year.

Head Coach Jim Clements
At the helm of the Golden Bears for the last three seasons has been head coach Jim Clements. This marks his first PSAC East Coach of the Year award and is the third in program history. He has achieved winning seasons in each of his first three years at Kutztown, including 7-4 and a school-record 7-0 in the PSAC East in 2016. For the first time in the program's 101-season history, KU lost three straight games and followed with seven straight wins. KU competed in its third-ever PSAC Championship game this year.

Through three seasons, Clements holds a 20-13 record, 17-6 in the PSAC, and a winning percentage of .606.

Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest)
Morgan puts the feather in his cap as the first offensive lineman in conference history to be named the PSAC Offensive Athlete of the Year. A three-time All-PSAC East First Team selection and consensus 2015 All-America First Team honoree, Morgan blocked for two school rushing records in his career, including the program's first 400-yard game vs. Millersville last year and a record 459 yards this season at East Stroudsburg.

The Philadelphia native only missed one game in his career and started at left tackle in 43 of KU's 44 games in his career, including a career-ending streak of 24 consecutive starts. He was invited to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl in January, the second player in school history and the sixth in PSAC history to earn the invitation to the nation's top senior showcase.

As a unit, KU's offensive line anchored the running game to rank second in the PSAC at 226.5 rushing yards per game. In the passing attack, KU ranked second in the PSAC in sacks allowed at 1.27 per game, and had a school-record span of four straight games without allowing a sack.

Morgan joins eight former Golden Bears to win the PSAC Athlete of the Year award and is the first since 2011.

Collin DiGalbo (Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner)
Since DiGalbo took over at starting quarterback in Week 4 at Millersville, KU went 6-1 with DiGalbo, 7-1 overall (DiGalbo missed Week 10), with his only loss coming in the PSAC Championship game. He averaged 214 passing yards and 59.3 rushing yards since becoming the starter. For the season, he had 18 total touchdowns, including a school-record eight rushing touchdowns for a quarterback. He ranked third in the PSAC in completion percentage at 62.6 percent.

A redshirt-freshman, DiGalbo wrote his own record book for rushing records for a quarterback. He ran for 126 yards in Week 6 vs. Bloomsburg, including an 82-yard touchdown run - school-records for the longest and most rushing yards by a quarterback in a game. His eight rushing touchdowns this season are a school-record for a quarterback and ninth-most overall, while his three rushing touchdowns in a game Week 8 vs. Lock Haven are the most in recorded history for a KU quarterback. His 421 rushing yards this season are third-most in recorded school history by a quarterback.

Craig Reynolds (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington)
Reynolds had a breakout redshirt-sophomore campaign in his first year as a starter. He leads the PSAC and ranks 16th in Division II in rushing yards at 1,189, third in KU single-season history. He became the youngest player in school history to run for 1,000 yards in a season, and is 1-of-8 players in school history to average 100+ rushing yards per game - the first since 2001. He was twice named the PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week.

He ranked second in the league in yards per carry at 6.43, as his receiving and return yardage put him fourth in the PSAC and 16th in Division II in all-purpose yards at 157.27 per game.

At East Stroudsburg on Oct. 15, Reynolds broke school-records for rushing yards (261) and all-purpose yards (345) in a game. It was one of six 100-yard games for Reynolds this season that included two, three-game streaks - a first for Kutztown since 2001.

Reynolds found the endzone 14 times on the ground, tied for third-most in single-season program history. Including a two-point conversion, he accounted for 86 points this season, tied for fourth-most in KU single-season history.

Ben Cregger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove)
Cregger earns his first career postseason honor with All-PSAC East First Team recognition. He has been Kutztown's starting center the last three seasons and ended his career starting 33 straight games – the longest active streak of any lineman for KU.

With Morgan, Cregger blocked for two school rushing records over the last 18 games. KU set the single-season total offense record in 2015, and points scored record in 2014 behind Cregger and the veteran offensive line. Cregger is also a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and a Dean's List honoree.

Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg)
Williams was one of three, two-year team captains for Kutztown this year and earned his third straight All-PSAC East First Team honor on Wednesday. He broke the three career receiving records at KU this year and was one of KU's top leaders during his final years.

This season, Williams hauled in 59 catches for 830 yards and a career-high-tying nine touchdown catches – extremely consistent with his 2014 and 2015 campaigns. He ranked in the top-10 in the PSAC in each category and caught a pass in 38-of-39 career games, including a career-ending streak of 17 in a row.

Williams sits atop the KU record books with 214 career catches (t-12th in PSAC history), 2,970 receiving yards (18th) and 31 touchdowns (12th). He is also a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and a Dean's List honoree.

He posted a season-high six tackles on four occasions this year, including three of the final four games. Condron had a career-high two sacks in KU's win over West Chester under the lights on Oct. 1.

For his career, Condron played in 43 games and recorded 170 tackles, 31 tackles-for-loss and 12.5 sacks.

Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall)
Delp closes his career as a three-time All-PSAC selection, earning First Team honors for the first time as a senior. The two-year team captain had a team- and career-high-tying 90 tackles this year, eighth in the PSAC at 8.2 per game. He added 10 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks this year, including four 10+ tackle games with a career-high 14 coming in Week 8 vs. Lock Haven.

Delp closes his career seventh in school history with 295 career tackles and 13th with 15.5 career sacks. He ended with a team-high 34 consecutive starts at linebacker for KU. He was a three-time career PSAC East Athlete of the Week, and a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and Dean's List honoree.

Jake Perry (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin)
Perry used a career-high five interceptions to lead his way to his first career postseason honor with All-PSAC East First Team honors. He was thrust into the starting lineup in Week 3 due to injuries, and took full advantage of the opportunity to wind up starting the final nine games at safety for the Golden Bears.

He had 52 tackles and five interceptions as a redshirt-sophomore, second in the PSAC for interceptions per game. He ranks eighth in KU history in single-season interceptions.

Ronny Tomasetti (Dickson City, Pa./Mid-Valley)
Tomasetti used his strength of getting into the backfield to earn All-PSAC East Second Team honors for the first time in his career. He had 33 tackles as a defensive end, 13 of which were tackles-for-loss – ninth in the PSAC at 1.2 per game. He had a career-high-tying seven tackles against West Chester on Oct. 1, while adding 3.5 tackles-for-loss and a strip sack that resulted in a KU touchdown against Cheyney on Nov. 5.

He closes his career with 96 tackles and 25 tackles-for-loss in 31 games played.

Tajier Jefferson (East Orange, N.J./Queen of Peace)
Jefferson, the returning PSAC East Freshman of the Year, earns his second All-PSAC honor in as many years on the field at KU. He was second on the team with 80 tackles while adding nine tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks. He had three 10+ tackle games this year, including a season-high 12 in the season-opener at Assumption on Sept. 3.
