KU Protects Home Floor over Millersville

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's basketball team continued its perfect streak at home as it defeated the Millersville University Marauders 87-69 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division bout inside of Keystone Arena.
 
Kutztown was dominant in the paint and held large advantages in rebounds (50-30) and points in the paint (46-16).
 
The Maroon and Gold were quick to get out to their lead and never hold back. Their largest lead of the game was 20 and it did not relinquish the lead for the entirety of the game.
 
Redshirt-freshman Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) put together another solid outing as he contributed 19 points, four rebounds and two steals.
 
Dan Cuevas (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) was impressive off the bench as he dropped 12 points and hauled in five boards in only 11 minutes of play. Ethan Ridgeway (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) was also solid off the bench as he posted seven points, six rebounds and five assists.
 
The big-man duo of Josh Johnson (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) and Anthony Selby (Jersey City, N.J./Williamstown (Burlington County CC)) played a significant factor in controlling the paint against Millersville. They combined for 25 points and 17 rebounds.
 
Millersville received a balanced attack with five players with nine points or more. Markeith Mont and Tommy Patterson had the most offensive output for the Marauders as they had 11 points apiece.
 
Kutztown was efficient when coming up with turnovers as it held the advantage in points-off turnovers (14-6). Kutztown also converted its rebounding edge into points with 21 second-chance points as opposed to Millersville's eight.
 
Kutztown will look to win its 11th game at home this season as it squares off against PSAC opponent Lock Haven University on Wednesday, Feb. 3 inside of Keystone Arena. The game will be underway at 7:30 p.m.
